SHAWL MINISTRY We have four people making shawls, lapghans and blankets. We have two people working on cross stitching bibs for baptisms. Starting in September, we will again be meeting the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays at 6:30 at the home of Susan Stahl. We have looms for those people who are unable to knit or crochet. If someone would like to learn to crochet, we could try to teach you. The shawls are kept in Carol's office if anyone would like to give one to someone in need. We just ask that the tag be filled out and left in the green folder. This helps us keep track of who has received shawls.
ADOPT-A-SCHOOL 2010-11 Let’s continue our efforts to help our community children, many of whom will lack the basic supplies needed for school. Don’t forget Willard Middle School the next time you are out and about. Look for those ‘early bird’ specials and get more for your buck!! Some of the supplies needed are glue (stick and liquid), pencils, tablets, wide-ruled notebook paper, erasers, scissors, etc. Every little bit helps those children less fortunate. You can drop off your donations at the Church Office.
CHRISTMAS SHOPPE FOR THE NEEDY As you are doing your spring, summer or fall cleaning, remember to save your “treasures” for the Deacons’ Christmas Shoppe in December. This service is for all persons who attend the free lunch program so they can “purchase” Christmas gifts for their loved ones. All kinds of treasures are accepted: decorations, books, knick-knacks, purses, cosmetics, craft items, sport items, children’s toys, jewelry, puzzles, gloves, hats, men’s aftershave, wallets, etc. NO CLOTHING, PLEASE! Bring your items to the Church, where they will be stored in the Deacons’ Pantry downstairs. Let’s help someone less fortunate have a Merry Christmas this year!!!
