Rachael Herriman is a sophomore at Lakeview High School. Her parents, Greg and Sherry are members of FPC. Patrick Shannon, PJ, is a freshman at Warren G. Harding. His mom, Jackie, is a member of the Motet Choir and his sister participates in the Orff Ensemble here at FPC. Violet Burd is in the seventh grade at Lincoln K-8. Her parents, Tom and Amy are members of the Motet Choir and her brothers, Tavish and Everett, are members of our Cherub Choir. We praise God for these active and talented families!

Offertory - Ain’t That Good News - Moses Hogan
          Men’s Chorus and Motet Choir
Benediction - Good News - Moses Hogan
Postlude

Moses Hogan was born in New Orleans on March 13, 1957. His contemporary choral setting of spirituals and other works are unparalleled.  He has earned an international reputation as one of America’s most gifted pianists, conductors and arrangers. It is no wonder his works have been performed by some of our leading choral organizations, including the Boy’s Choir of Harlem.

We lift up these arrangements this morning in celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King one of this generation’s greatest advocates of equality of God’s people. We sing these pieces in praise of a God who knew no difference between race and creed and challenged us from the beginning of time to do the same.
