Last year, we asked you to save U.S. commemorative and foreign stamps to raise money to be used to help the Presbyterian Printing Press in the Congo, which makes Bibles, hymnals and Christian education materials. We continue to collect stamps for the Congo, but wanted to update you on the progress.
A new smaller printing press arrived at IMPROKA (Presbyterian Printing Press) the first week in February, 2008. A total of $4,200 from Stamps for Missions was sent to help with the payment of this press. Another $1,500 went to the Congo for continuing education in one of the most primitive sections of the Congo.
Let’s continue to contribute to this worthy cause. Cut off your stamps, leaving a half inch of envelope around them. You can drop your stamps off at the church office or give them to Marguerite Lovett, member of the Presbytery Women’s Association.
